This made me laugh. I write a (not always complimentary) blog about Norfolk Island in the South Pacific and I was googling to make sure that 'Norfolking Idea' didn't come up in the immediate list of links when looking for 'Norfolk'. I know that disparaging blog entrie sare probably grounds for dismissal for me and hence I limit the vitriol.

But I am glad to read somebody who tells it like it's seen!

hey! i agree with u.. the packing on the articles inside the market is indeed a complete waste..i wonder if these people even know that burning of plastic could result in the release of poisonous toxins which are cancerous. Real sad that we care to protect veggies instead of human lives..

i must say though u use pretty strong words, the message gets across :) nd more so, how upset ur about it..nd its fantastic hearing someone actually bothering about the things which tho appear to be small matter in a huge way!

Mr Rudd, my dear friend, you've actually just complemented me. Saying that I sound exactly like Jeremy Clarkson is fantastic, as he is a man with sense most of the time, well at least I think so.

Kevin, I wouldn't have minded if your original comment was, well, more polite. I'd have been very happy with that, and wouldn't have reacted. But you went all aggressive.

My friends...well, there are lots of them, I'm afraid to tell you, which must make a hell of a lot of people foul little twats.

And even though you clearly hate what I have to say, you are still here, reading it all and reacting to it.

I admit, I am mouthy. Some love it, others hate it. But it shall not get me off this site. If you do so loathe me, then it's simple - don't come here and read my articles, unless you get a buzz from telling people they're bigoted idiots. Or at least make your responses more subtle.

For a start, I believe you have completely missed the point. Mind you, as your first name is Kevin, which means that your brain is located somewhere near your builder's shithole and thus you find it difficult to understand words which compromise of more than 2 syllables, that doesn't surprise me. May I therefore locate you to the first two paragraphs. See how I am in favour for banning the bag. See that nowhere in this article have I suggested or indeed encouraged reckless use of the environment. Observe carefully, Mr Rudd, or do as your Australian Prime Minister namesake does and wear some glasses so that you can do so.

Mr Rudd, as a suspected environmentalist, may I just point out the key word one can find within "environmentalist" - 'mental'. You are all people who wave dirty little green banners that look like snotty handkerchiefs in the air, creating noise pollution and interfereing with people's day-to-day lives. You stand there in your small hoards like clumps of viruses, with your filthy beards filled with fry-up breakfasts killing small birds, getting your sandals all wet and generally going out of your way to make people's lives a misery. Burning me with C02 is very generous of you, but terribly unoriginal. You need bloody oxygen and some heat with that. CO2 on its own is going to be pretty pathetic - rather like your ill-fated attempt to read my blog, so it would seem.

To my other dear (new) readers, forgive me, for I've been compared to Basil Fawlty. But if there's one thing that gets up my nose more than anything (bar Politically Correct idiots and 'Elf-n-Safety morons) it's Environmentalists. Good job that Mr Rudd is merely a visitor, and thus not someone who can infest this site with more of his vermin.

I agree, particularly with the paradox that you point out about the fact a plastic bag is actually useful, yet the wasteful packaging on actual goods is not, and they decide to tax plastic bags. It's the same as the ridiculous cardboard packasging on things, for example, yoghurt cartons, they are stuck together anyway, but somehow cardboard must be used for extra binding, I cannot think why.
